Over the hills you go

Now that we're a month+ into your training for your spring event it's possible that you're feeling a little tired which is part of the deal. It's common about 6 weeks into your training to find yourself in a funk. It's very important to get your rest now, eat right and just plain look out for yourself. I also wouldn't bring a bunch of other activities into your life right now. Time to focus and keep the training going and work though it and on the other side you'll be a lot stronger for it. Stronger = faster!

Nice results from the Time Trial last week. Please enter your results here http://runningnw.com/new/index.php/training/2-mi-time-trial-submit  You can also view the results there.

If your time trial was a little slower than you thought remember what I said above I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it's a lot slower in April then I might. In the end a time trial is just another workout.

Most of you are in to hills at least once a week. I think that hills are the best workout that we do. They work your legs, arms and of course the infamous ass. Hills get all stronger and and I really believe improve your form and in a way make you a bit stronger mentally because you have to focus on getting up each one and applying effort to do so. One thing to remember is the slower you run hills in teh end the harder thay are to do as it takes you longer to get up them. a good six weeks of these bad boys and you'll ready to finish up on the track for the last 6 weeks and be raring to go for your race.

Your mid week workouts are posted http://runningnw.com/new/index.php/training/mid-week-plans if you would like to be added to this list go here http://runningnw.com/new/index.php/roster and add yourself to the list.

Saw a nice blog post by one our Group members Suzanne who is on her quest for running marathons in 50 states. You can read that here http://www.event360.com/blog/want-to-run-the-chicago-marathon-lace-up-your-shoes-and-create-a-fundraising-plan/
